Color in Business: Part Three

Creating a Lively Workspace

If you tuned in for our last two articles, you’ll already know a little bit about today’s topic: Colors in Business. We know that colors can evoke emotion, encouraging customers to make impulsive decisions about your brand solely based on the colors incorporated in your logo and products; but what about your employees? Just like consumers, your staff can be inspired by color. So, take a look around the office. Is it dull and mundane, or filled with color and positivity? Motivate your team to be the best they can be by Creating a Lively Workspace. Here’s how!

Keep It Exciting

Just because you’re at work, doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun. And the same goes for your employees! Keeping it exciting will only energize them and they will wake up wanting to come to the office. Try adding in pops of color, whether it’s through temporary solutions, such as fun stationary or past marketing pieces and motivational posters hung in frames, or something more permanent, such as painted accent walls or colorful office furniture. Spark their creativity and increase productivity, teamwork and positivity.

Fun Fact: Did you know? According to a study conducted by Get the Gloss, “a green environment led people to score 20% higher on creativity tests, yellow prompted a livelier, happier and more social environment, while blue areas produced twice as many brainstorming results when compared to a red area.” Pretty neat!

Alive and Well

Especially in the green industry, having plants in the office is always a positive. Not only do they add an aesthetic appeal to the space, but they can actually improve your health. If you decide to go this route, Weed Man suggests choosing plants that don’t require much maintenance; and keep in mind, the amount of natural light you have available before buying too many.

Fun Fact: Did you know? According to Bayer Advanced, “when you embellish interior spaces with [plants], you’re not just adding greenery. These living organisms interact with your body, mind and [office] in ways that enhance the quality of life.”

Home Sweet Home

Making the office feel a little home-y never hurts! Create a sense of comfort by incorporating items usually found in a home setting. Consider adding a cozy sofa with throw pillows or a designated lunch room full of color for employees to enjoy during their break time. You could also keep coffee and light snacks on hand, for an added touch. Even candles and soft music can help create an enjoyable work environment.

Fun Fact: Did you know? When employees feel ‘at home’ at work, they will be more at ease with themselves and their co-workers, allowing them to express themselves better and creating a sense of unity among all staff.
