For the fourth year in a row, Weed Man, North America’s leading lawn care franchise company, has earned the number one spot in the lawn care category for Entrepreneur magazine’s annual Franchise 500,® the world’s first, best and most comprehensive franchise ranking.
Ranking No. 91st overall, Weed Man is recognized for its exceptional performance in areas including financial strength and stability, growth rate, and system size. Since 2009, the company has jumped up 300 spots. Furthermore, Weed Man is finishing up 2014 with system wide sales of $140 million and an average customer renewal rate of approximately 75-80 percent.
“Weed Man is honored to receive the No. 1 ranking in the lawn care sector. It truly reinforces our strength as a brand,” said Jennifer Lemcke, COO of Turf Holdings, Inc. and Weed Man USA. “We take great pride in making sure the right systems are in place to help our franchise owners be successful. Without their passion and dedication on a daily basis, we would not be where we are today.”
The rankings for all 500 companies are determined using an exclusive formula that takes into account objective and quantifiable factors. An independent CPA analyzes all financial data. The most important factors include financial strength and stability, growth rate and size of the system. All franchises are given a cumulative score, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500® in ranking order. Over its 35 years in existence, the Franchise 500® has become both a dominant competitive measure for franchisors and a primary research tool for entrepreneurs.
