Year after year, research shows a significant increase in the use of professional lawn and landscape services. A study conducted by the National Gardening Association revealed that homeowners spent a record $44.7 billion on professional lawn and landscape services in 2006…an increase of $20.2 billion since 2001. This was reported in Landscape Management magazine, a national trade magazine serving industry business owners.

The same study reported that 34.5 million households hired a professional for at least one type of lawn and landscape service. In addition, the study showed that 27.8 million households hired both lawn care and landscape maintenance services.

Despite the ongoing vulnerability of the economy, lawn care services continue to be a desired service by dual-income families, maturing baby boomers and consumers who are choosing vacations at home. Across all of these demographics, consumers understand the value of a healthy looking lawn and landscape and enjoy the tranquility that a lush, green lawn can provide.
