Successful First Season for Weed Man Tampa

Joe Chiellini, Mark Almeda & Team Take Home Rookie of The Year

The Weedy Awards, presented at the annual conference, have come to symbolize a tradition within Weed Man that recognizes our franchisee's accomplishments. Weed Man Tampa had an incredible first year earning them the ranks of Rookie of the Year for 2021.

Holding the reins of this successful operation is none other than Joe Chiellini and business partner Mark Almeda. Joe is the founder and CEO of ASI Landscape Management, originating in 1993.  In its humble beginnings, ASI was a two-man residential lawn service. Currently, under the leadership and guidance of Joe and Mark, ASI is now a multi-county commercial business, employing 180 individuals with three branches covering the greater Tampa Bay and Orlando marketspace. Joe Chiellini recently retired from his career as a Captain for Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue. Joe served the people of Hillsborough County for almost 30 years all the while building and growing his landscape management company to where it is today.

Mark Almeda is a partner and vice president of ASI. Mark began his association with ASI in 1995 as the first full time employee. He quickly advanced to the position of Foreman, where he assumed a management role, assigning and supervising workers and overseeing the quality of the work.  Mark's management style and attention to detail did not go unnoticed and in 2005 he became a partner and vice president of the company.  Mark has held this position to this day.  Throughout his 20 plus years of experience, Mark has gained and shared his knowledge and expertise with hundreds of ASI team members.  He and Joe Chiellini have managed to grow ASI despite the unpredictable nature and growing competition of the landscape industry.

From the outside, you may wonder “why would a company of this size & success not take on lawn care services themselves, under their own brand?”  Here is a short clip from Joe Chiellini on this exact question.
